Paint & Maintain – Terms & Conditions

By booking our services, receiving an estimate, or allowing us to begin work, you are agreeing to the following terms. These terms are here to protect both parties and keep everything clear.

1. Booking & Quotes

1.1 Acceptance of Quote
Quotes may be accepted verbally, by message/email, or by allowing us to begin work. Once accepted, this forms a contract, and these terms apply. Please check your quote carefully before confirming.

1.2 Scope of Work
Your quote includes only the items specifically listed. For example, "walls, ceiling, and skirtings" means those areas only. If doors, dado rails, coving, or other areas are not mentioned—they’re not included. If in doubt, just ask.

1.3 Additional Work
If you'd like to add anything on during the job, let us know. We’ll update the invoice, send it for your approval, and the new price will be reflected there.

2. Materials & Paint

2.1 Paint Supply
If you would like us to supply paint, we’re happy to provide it and add it to your invoice.

We recommend Dulux Trade products for best results.
A standard room usually requires 5L of emulsion for the walls. We'll advise if more is needed.

2.2 Colour Matching
We don’t offer a colour-matching service. If you need a shade matched, this can be done by taking a sample to your local Dulux Decorator Centre or B&Q.

2.3 Client-Supplied Paint
If you're supplying your own paint, you accept responsibility for quality, suitability, and final finish. We can’t be held liable for issues caused by poor or incompatible products.

3. Guarantee & Workmanship

We do not offer a written guarantee. However, we always aim to provide high-quality work.
Where client-supplied paint or prep is involved, we are not liable for finish issues.

Any concerns must be raised during the end-of-job sign-off walkthrough.

4. Snagging & End-of-Job

We will always walk the job with you when finished. This is your chance to point out anything you’d like checked or touched up.

If you're not available, we’re happy to send a video walkthrough.

Snagging must be raised at this point.

If we need to return because no one was present to complete the walkthrough or authorise snagging, this may be chargeable as an additional visit.

5. Payment Terms

5.1 Deposits
A Minimum 20% deposit is required to secure your booking. This is non-refundable unless otherwise agreed.

5.2 Weekly Payments

Most jobs are on a weekly payment schedule – with payment requested and due each Friday for any completed rooms/areas. You will always be notified in advance.

5.3 Final Payment
Final payment must be made on the last day of the job, after the walkthrough.

Cash is preferred and paid on completion.

If you are paying by bank transfer and not present, payment should be made the night before.

6. What’s Included

Walls, ceilings and skirtings means just that. If we state 'woodwork - it applies to skirtings & windowsills, we price each additional item seperately)

Skirtings include:
– door frames\

Doors are not included unless specifically stated.

Doors are priced at £10 per side, per coat. These can be added at any time during the job.

7. Cancellations & Rescheduling

If you need to cancel, please give us at least 7 days’ notice.
Late cancellations will be charged 50% of the quoted work, or £100, whichever is higher.

If you cancel partway through a job, all completed work is still chargeable in full.
Any changes to the work will still be chargeable due to the time being scheduled for teh work. We require 7 days notice before the start of the job for any changes to the scope of work.

8. Complaints Process

We pride ourselves on doing a great job—but if anything’s not right, please let us know.

Most issues can be resolved quickly during the job or at the final walkthrough.

Aggressive or rude messages will not be tolerated and may result in us ending the contract. We’re a family-run business, and respectful communication is expected both ways.

9. Legal

By reading, accepting or being sent these terms, you are deemed to have been notified and agreed to them. We are legally supported by a commercial legal team who will follow up any breach of agreement or unpaid invoices.

Thank you for choosing Paint & Maintain – we're here to do a great job, and we appreciate you supporting a local business.
